While putting a new cartridge, open the front cover and remove all the empty cartridges. Make sure that the protective film has been removed from the cartridge prior to printer installation. Check the contacts on the new cartridge for damage. Install the cartridges in right order, close the front cover and power the printer down and then up again.

1. When you’re not able to install a printer make sure to check the Device Manager in the Control Panel for any unknown devices. Your machine automatically becomes an unknown device if you connect the cable in before installing the appropriate driver software.
2. If your printer is giving a dotted image, you have to clean the printer heads. In order to do this, go to Printers in the Control Panel, then right click your Printer then select Properties. A menu with the various settings will pop up. You need to choose Clean Printer Cartridges. The printer will run in cleaning mode.
3. If your machine jams frequently, you may be using too much paper. This can also happen if you’ve had jams in the past and have a piece of rubbish still stuck inside the printer. Use a torch to monitor the entire mechanism to ensure no paper is still inside.
