Laptop CPUs are not powerful but having the feature of power saving and producing less heat. In the laptops, SO-DIMM memory modules are present. These are half in size as compared to desktop DIMMs. Almost all the laptops consist of rechargeable battery, which is charged using an external power supply.

Lithium ion batteries are used by most of the recent laptops. Video controller is integrated into the chipset for standard laptops. In the laptops, an integrated keyboard or a pointing device or a touchpad is used for giving input to it. You can also connect an external keyboard or mouse using USB port. Laptops are having many USB ports, an external monitor port, audio in/out port, and an Ethernet network port. A docking station is a heavy laptop accessory which contains many ports and expansion ports.
