STEP1. To active this feature, you will need to be logged into your system with administrative privileges.

STEP2. First click on Start button and then click on "Help and Support" to open help and support center page.

STEP3. Under the "Pick a Help topic" section, click on "Fix a Problem" and then on next page click on "Application and software problems" link.

STEP4. Now on right side of the page, under the "Fix a Problem" section, click on "Getting older programs to run on Windows XP" link.

STEP5. Click on "Program Compatibility Wizard" link.

STEP6. Now click on Next button and select the proper location of program (from a list, in CD drive and select manually), if you have selected the option" I want to locate the program manually "then click on Next button.

STEP7. On next page click on browse button to select the path of program shortcut or executable file to run and press Next button.

STEP8.  Select the operating system that is suitable for that program, and click Next button.

STEP9. On next page choose display setting check box then Next button to finish the windows compatibility mode wizard.

STEP10. At the end this wizard will load the program according to your selected setting. You can apply these compatibility settings permanently.
